Mark Thompson
Mark commenced Merchant Navy training through Warsash Maritime Centre in 1997, initially working for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary Mark qualified as a Specialist Navigating Officer (SPEC(N)) with the Royal Navy and served as a Navigating Officer on various large RFA Vessels. Now holding a Masters Unlimited Certificate of Competency, Mark is sailing as a Chief Officer on high speed ferries.
Mark has recent experience with most modern navigation systems, integrated bridge systems and basic DP systems as well as experience in a shore position looking after the provision of digital charting products for a large fleet of vessels making the transition to digital navigation. He controls a team well versed in the delivery of ECDIS training form bespoke introduction packages through to the delivery of STC95 compliant courses.
